    Re: Questioning my Vet

When I asked my vet (dog vet) for advice about searching for a herp vet, he said that when I find one I should ask simply "what does a regular check-up for snakes consist of?"

He said make sure they mention urate/fecal matter testing and blood tests... if that's not their first response to my question, then he said he'd keep searching. Unfortunately he couldn't recommend any to me as he's new to the area

That sounds like your dog vet would be a good choice if there are no exotic vets in your area!

Yeah he did take a blood sample, and checked his mouth. But he seemed to be really unsure of husbandry issues...it just seemed odd to me

I asked him if he would do just the tests that he mentioned, until I could find one, but he said no... too bad, he's just a few streets away, would have made my life a tad easier!
