Mine has a personality all her own. She's picky and almost seems to be prissy as well. It's not an annoying picky either. She's my only snake who wont take live, only f/t and you cant just put the Rat in there....she wants you to feed it to her. I have to dangle it in fron of her for a minute, and then she'll strike...then she'll drag it into her hide and eat it. She's doesn't like to be watched while she eats....she's a princess. lol

I love short tailed.. this is my Borneo Big Mean Carl. He is so funny, fat, and easy to handle...

...and all the natural Bloods, Borneos and Sumatrans are in my opinion are just too pretty.
But I say both (because I am picking up a Hog Island from a rescue pretty soon) and I have a soft spot for boas

I have both. They are great snakes.

My Hog girl is SUPER easy going. Such a mellow snake. My Blood girl is also super mellow (both are still very young). I think my BP's have more of an attitude than my boas and my blood.

So I would go with both!

My bloods are by far my favorite snakes, they are very interesting and they do keep you on your toes for sure. All of my bloods are laid back but there are times when they will let you know when they don't want to be bothered, over time you learn their body language. They are extremely powerful and luckily over the years I have yet to be tagged by them, and I certainly would not want to get hit, like I said they are very hard hitters and powerful. Before handling I always always make sure they know I am there and give them a few minutes to know I am there before picking up, if they don't want to be handled most of them make it obvious by hissing, breathing heavy and they will literally push your hand away by thrashing their body at your hand lol...

Definitely interesting snakes and ones that you need to have patience with. They are not ones that like to be handled for extended periods and let me know when they have had enough. They are cool also because they are always on alert and "watching" you. Everytime I walk into my snake room my one male black will come out of his hide and rest his head along the glass of his enclosure and watch me intently lol

My female strikes harder than any snake I've ever seen, she literally puts her body airborne when she strikes and coils, pretty intense.
