as long as I'm ripping off pop culture, here's a second:
you have two empty plastic water jugs, the kind used for water dispensers, one of which holds five gallons, the other holds three. assuming you have an unlimited supply of water on hand, how can you get exactly four gallons of water to fit inside the five-gallon jug?
(granted this is a mathematics problem via George Polya, but most people know the movie reference).
Fill the 5g and pour into the 3g then dump the 3g. Pour the 2g remaining in the 5g into the 3g, then fill the 5g and fill the remainder of the 3g. What is left in the 5g is 4g.
