    as long as I'm ripping off pop culture, here's a second:

    you have two empty plastic water jugs, the kind used for water dispensers, one of which holds five gallons, the other holds three. assuming you have an unlimited supply of water on hand, how can you get exactly four gallons of water to fit inside the five-gallon jug?

    (granted this is a mathematics problem via George Polya, but most people know the movie reference).
