I have a "normal" female that gets paler and redder with every shed. She looked normal for her first two years of life and then started changing colors with every shed. This has been going on for the last 4-5 years and some of her daughters I held back 3 years ago are now starting to do the same thing.

I had this happen to my pastel male about two years ago. Freaked me out slightly, but nothing happened except a random color change when he'd shed. Nothing different about the scales except a lighter color, and its still noticeable but has faded. He just has a random patch of light scales on his neck and on one spot on his back.
