All the pics of adult Bees have that darkness along the top of their back. I don't think they stay "all yellow" their whole life. If I am wrong someone else chime in.
There are definitely sexy adult bees that held their yellows and cleanliness. I've seen a few youtube videos on em, and random picture postings on the forums :p. for some strange reason, i don't see too many in the ads >_O
