How much you guys think I can get for my enclosure as is? People were saying that it's a good one for an arboreal setup...

Hard to say. Throw it up on Craigslist with a good picture. Ask $400 for it and see what comes out of the wood work. Even if you get half of that (and I think you can), you're well on your way to a nice Animal Plastics set up like pigfat suggested. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Someone may be want it to put china in it. I think it would be a lot of work to make it an aboreal cage because they would have to seal or cover all the wood....oh and I wouldn't say that its been a snake cage in your craigslist add lol, that may freak potential buyers away.

This is an outstanding point that I failed to mention. Thank you to pigfat for covering my 6.

    Bitter.

Ok, well, in the meantime, I'm going to try and see what I can do about humidity levels and make it a one level enclosure. The one level deal and turning down the heat lamp I can do for under $30. I'll see about getting a plastic enclosure for long term.

    Ok, thread revival.

This came in the mail yesterday:

    [IMG][/IMG]

Soooo, now what? Do I hook the probe up to the UTH or the heat lamp? And, do I superglue it to the plexi piece that the UTH is on, or can I tape it? Or what? Also, what temp should I set it at?

Next step is making the tank one level. (I know, I know, I said I would do that last weekend, but stuff came up. I'm hoping to work on it this Sunday or Monday (I have off Monday).

As long as you're working on it its no big deal! Put the thermostat probe on the UTH. If you can get it under the sticky side of the UTH I would do that, but if not, hot glue works pretty good. I would set it at 91ish? The hydrofarms work good "I have used 4 of them" but they can raise and lower by about 3 degrees either way. Do you have a way to see how hot your UTH is? Like a infrared thermometer? If not, maybe a stick on thermometer might work as a last resort lol.

Nope, no infrared thermometer. Although, I am heading to the NoVa reptile expo on Saturday, so I might see how much one of those guns are. In the meantime, I have a digital thermometer/hydrometer that I bought from walmart last week. I can throw that puppy in her hide for a day, and see what temps it's getting to.

I would think they would have one at a show. I've seen them for under $40. That may work but I doubt it will get a good reading of the surface temp. I would probably add 2-3 degrees for the actual surface temp. Just keep it below 95 and you'll be fine.
