There is nothing wrong with normals! My favorite snake in the whole wide world is my male normal Julius, he's absolutely priceless even though he's practically worthless when it comes to breeding. They vary so much in color and pattern, I have three normals that look so different from eachother. You could possibly find a male pastel for under $100, I saw some decent ones, not top of the line or anything but decent, at a show a couple weeks ago for $75 or less.
