    What to get next?

I post threads like this rather often but that's because I suck at making decisions XD

So I'm planning to work with a local breeder as an externship next month, and he'll hopefully be taking me to a few of the expos in the area. And even if he doesn't, I'm planning on roadtripping to one of them with a friend of mine. The plan is to get my first ball morph, and if I can afford it, something else too. So I have two decisions to make.

For the ball morphs, I like all of these equally, and price is not an issue. I also haven't decided what sex I'm going to get yet. But I'm planning to make this morph my first breeder in a few years, so I'm wondering what will be the smartest move there. Hopefully going to start up a business in a few years, so I don't want to get something whose offspring people just...won't want. Anyway, this is what I'm looking at:
    - Albino
    - Bumblebee
    - Pewter
    - Lesser
    - Ghost (probably het for something else)

As for other animals (and this is totally tentative), it will most likely just be a pet. If I end up liking it enough, I'll breed it in the future, but for now there would be no plans to do so. Looking for something easy to care for and docile, since I hope to do educational programs some day. I know all individuals are different, but better safe than sorry. I've done basic research on all of these; not gonna go in-depth until I narrow it down at least a little bit.
    - Nelson's milksnake
    - Sinaloan milksnake
    - Desert kingsnake
    - Cali kingsnake morph
    - Some kind of Pituophis species
    - Crested gecko (really iffy on this one, since I'm getting out of lizards, but these guys have grown on me)
    - Chaco golden knee tarantula
    - Mexican red knee tarantula
    - Axlotl (may just get one for display...but probably not)

So yeah, sorry if this is a bit spammish but I haven't been able to decide for a month or two. So what do you guys think?

I was actually thinking about the same thing. Since I have a pied male, I've decided to go with a female bumblebee for my next ball.

it really depends on what you want to make. But bumblebee's are always nice.

That's what I'm not sure about, lol. I like everything those morphs make XD

the best route for breeding would be getting females first then males later. It takes at least 2 years for her to grow to breeder size. Males can breed in their first year. So you can always get males the year after so that both of your males and females are progressing at the same rate. And maybe by then, some double and triple gene males will come down in price.

Forget what I said above if you're going to purchase breeder sized animals..

Also, if price isn't an issue, I would buy 2 gene females first. So either that bee or pewter. However, if you want to save some money, just get single gene females and double gene males.

Also think about getting morph hets. That will save a lot of breeding time and can give you more combos.

    Good luck.

I'm planning on getting a young (probably female) morph this time, and either a different morph or a het morph of the opposite sex later. I don't want to get a normal het whatever right now because in addition to breeding, I'm trying to branch out my collection as well. And both my snakes are normal morphs right now XD I love them dearly but I want something new to look at. Might get a morph that's het for another morph if the price is right, but other than the ghost, it's not likely

My vote is for the bee! I love them, they are gorgeous. Plus you get spider and pastel out of that.

I'm actually one of the few ball keepers that just....doesn't like mojaves, lol. Even lessers are just starting to grow on me.

I was thinking of getting a lesser female now and a male later, then breeding them to try to get blue-eyed leucis, since they're my favorite morph. But at the same time, a bee seems like a more diverse/versatile breeder.

And what about the other, non-ball animals? What do you think is the best route there?

What a about a honeybee? They look just as good if not better than a bumblebee IMO, or anything with the ghost gene looks awesome I think.
