I save most of my snakes skins. All but the poop filled ones. I love unrolling the skins while they are still wet I like to make sure the eye caps are there. After they dry you can see their patterns in the skin. So cool and crazy things we do

I try to save them when I can, but I usually tear them trying to get them unrolled.

Zap them lightly with a mister to make them soft and pliable again.

[how sad is it that I know that?]

Congrats on shed! My Hubby thinks I am wierd. I am the shed police. When ever somebody sheds, the first thing I do is drag it out. I unroll if necessary and inspect. For completeness, tail, and eye caps. He teases that I like to play with them. . Just checking...lol...

I *almost* got a totally perfectly, intact one tonight.

Head, lower jaw, body...everything in one piece but the goofy Fire male somehow broke the very tip of the tail off it.

[it took me 20 minutes to carefully turn it right side out and unroll it...hoping..but the tail was missing and I found it inside his house, right next to a pile of his usual post-shed "gift" to me]

    Argh!

    Better luck next snake....

*nods* I'll leave the shed alone a little longer, then just bag it, I think.
I'm already working on the plans for making one.
I have to go to Michaels crafts and find a tiny little black bow.

If I pull this off, I'll post pix.....

I check for eye caps and toss them.

Congrats on a solid shed, you got to love that. I hate when they shed in pieces.
