If this story is true, leave the collection alone. You clearly don't know what you're doing. The reason your brother got you to leave them alone is because he was probably following strict quarantine procedures, which you have just messed up... BIG TIME!

My best advice is to order two cans of Provent-a-Mite from Pro-Products website. Your brother will not "beat your #@$$" as bad if you at least have the PAM on hand when he gets back. Do not use it yourself, its highly toxic to snakes and a specific procedure needs to be followed.

After rereading this and seeing the trolling stuff going on I was thinking to myself why would someone waste their time doing this, it seems like you would have to have no life. Either way rats are unlikely to carry reptile mites and he possibly did not want you to go to the friends house or bring him to his collection for fear out of contamination. Is sounds likely that there were already mites in the collection if this story is true.

This person is a disgrace to my troll bretheren. If you're going to try your hand at trolling, get the facts straight first. There's no way you'll get mites overnight from feeding frozen rats from a pet store, or else my snake would have died before he ever came into my possession.

I have to agree, the blatent going against all the instructions, the contradictions of the feeding part, and the saying he has different ball python species, it sounds like this is all designed to get people worked up. I would hope this isnt true because if it is its pretty rediculous, and its pretty pathetic for someone to waste their time in this fashion.
