BHB has gained a reputation for selling/shipping snakes with mites. I am a victim of BHB mites as is LGray23 (and I'm sure plenty of other people). That's why mite jokes have been coming up when BHB is mentioned.

Yes there is, but I've only been back around the Forum for a few days and I'm not ready to start Breeder Bashing just yet...

I see; thanks for the info! I really do like Snake Bytes but if mites are a problem with them, don't you think they should be spending more time on their snakes well being than making videos? Just aaaa....yeah, just going to put that out there.

I've posted on this before. I am not a fan of bashing unless the person/people are truely bad news. Although mites are a horrible issue it was fairly easy for me to treat. Two treatments of Provent-a-mite and I haven't seen them since. I personally think Brian is a really nice guy who has a lot on his plate. Although it probably comes down to being his fault that there is a mite problem, I still don't consider him a bad guy at all. The three snakes I got from him are absolutely perfect examples of the morphs, were very healthy besides the mites. I thoroughly checked over my snakes when they arrived with no signs of mites whatsoever, and didn't even notice them till a week or so later. I don't think he knowingly sends out snakes with mites, but they spread so quickly it's inevitable unless they are treated correctly.

Anyways, my mite problem is finished, no hard feelings towards Brian or BHB. I now am a little more responsible and use PAM as a preventative thanks to him actually. I've always said I should have some on hand but never did, and now I do.

As far as the morphs, I don't think the color correlates with their bad attitude. I think it is based on the individual snake, and maybe by pure chance most of the mean snakes tested happened to be a darker morph. My male OG, light as can be, is a jerk.

.....before you start to say stuff go do some research. I'm getting fed up with all the stuff about BHB. When you're that large it is going to happen.. people just feel the need to keep bringing it up and bringing it up. It's honestly nerve racking. Bhb is one if the best you can buy from, and it's going to happen regardless some time.. mites are easy to get as bed bugs. So yeah, lets go on a spree and make fun of everyone with bed bugs or mites... seriously.... :/

I want to be perfectly clear, I wasn't trying to bash BHB I was simply explaining the situation. Anything I felt I needed to say about BHB was done in the proper section here and on fauna.

As for aggressive snakes, it's all over the board for me. Most of mine are fine because I work with them, but for a while my enchi, male spotnose and fire were all little jerks that would strike at anything that moved. I'm still working with my enchi, but he's gotten much better. None of those is a particularly dark morph, but at the same time my darkest normal and cinny can be a bit unpredictable at time.

That is not a good example, bed bugs are notoriously hard to get rid of because they spread so easily. A better example would be flees or head lice.

I have a pewter male that is just an a**. A male Mojave was always trying to bite me as well. Allthough I do have a female Mojave that is as sweet as a peach.

I didn't say they were easy to get rid of. I say easy to get. An fleas are thelike the black death... we've been fighting them for almost 8 months... just when you think they're gone they come back.
