Re: Three-year-old male ball python that won't breed.... Any suggestions?

So despite my best efforts using all the tricks, when I came home from work this morning, they were not locked.....as I have come to expect when he is the male involved. Dang it! I'm frustrated and very tempted to just replace him. Anybody got a PROVEN high contrast male albino they would sell me?

Did you not see hemipenes when you popped? You should be able to pop out at least one pene...

Females get dried shed stuck in their cloacas that comes out when popped and sometimes people mistake this for sperm....

He probes way too deep to be a girl, and I can pop out one big purple hemipene. He's definitely a boy.

How long are you leaving him in with the female? He may need extra time to warm up to her (undisturbed), or he might be getting the job done when you aren't looking. I've heard plenty of stories from people who never caught a lock that still got eggs.

The rack they are in has clear drawers and is located in a place where I can easily see into it. I have been leaving him in with each girl for 3-4 days at a time with time in his own bin in between them since November and never seen a bit of courting behavior at all. It's so obvious with the othe males I have. I really hope I get a "surprise" clutch from the spider het albino that contains albino spiders..... but I'm certainly not counting on it.

The problem's definitely not with the albino female. Two other males have bred her twice each with no hesiatation at all and were locked up with her for over 24hours each time. I'm pretty sure she will lay eggs, but I will be completely surprised if there are any albinos in the clutch. I'm not sure about the spider het albino female I've been trying to put him with. I'm not willing to let any of the other boys ruin my chances of getting albino spiders out of her this year.

It bites, doesn't it? I don't know if snakes can be gay. My albino certainly didn't go after the other males when I put them in the mix for competition. I think he just has no sex drive. I can easily afford to replace him, and I'm thinking I probably will.
