I thought only small children, the elderly, and otherwise people with weakened immune systems could get salmonella. I know I've never had it and I don't do anythign special.

Re: Salmonella. Have YOU caught it from your reptiles?

We are good about washing our hands, and not mixing snake bowls with kitchen sinks. How ever, we let them crawl all over us and do not change clothes or anything like that. They go on the furniture too. Our daughter handles them too. No salmonella here. I am more worried about it from our red ear slider....lol.

I dont know what the benefit of sticking a turtle in your mouth would be but if ya lick a frog things can get a little crazy.

No, everyone can get it, those are the only people in real danger from it. Everyone else will experience 24 hours of vomiting and misery, and then be fine.

I've had food poisoning--but only from food, never from the reptiles.

Never had it. Not too worried about it and I have small kids that handle the snakes. I just keep some hand sanitizer around.
