You should use flexwatt heat tape that is regulated by a thermostat (I like the Herpstats by Spyder robotics). The Probe should be attached directly to the heat tape (I use hot glue for this just don't put the glue on the probe itself)
The Flexwatt should cover between 1/3 to 1/2 of the bottom of the tub depending on what your room temperature is. (the colder your room is the more heat tape you will need)
