Congrats on the new blood! At least the breeder/shipper seems fair and is trying to right a wrong. Not many people are like that these days.

I bought mine from a breeder out of Florida, Steve Tillis (reptillisherps.com). I've also talked to Keith McPeek (thebloodline.net). I also highly recommend Kara, she is wonderful and has some stunning animals.

If you want a stunning animal I highly recommend you check out the parents blood line. My albino males parents were VPI's. I can't afford a VPI, but luckily I found a breeder who bred some VPI's. GL and sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you got refunded for the DOA.

I have to second Kara Norris. I bought to bloods off of her this year and they are just awesome. I wouldn't hesitate doing business with her again.

Better luck this time around! For the next bloods you're in the market for, I'd agree with Kara Norris or the Barkers at VPI being a great route to go.

    Re: Baby Blood Dead ):

i have a smokin red blood that i got from Kara, she made doing business EASY, and stayed on top of e mails. never did i feel like i was anything less than a paying customer with her. A+

my next blood will be coming from Keith at thebloodline.net because of a particular animal. though i havent purchased anything from him, hees answered my e mails, and been really up front with his projects.

Ditto Kara is a long time dear dear friend and I know for a fact that her and her hubby Ryan offer both A++ animals. Check them out and ask yourself..

Another breeder to look at is Tim Mead. http://serpentim.com/

I have some stunning Briets from him that are doing great.

    Just for future reference dear,

Most people who have reptiles shipped to them are careful to photograph the unboxing and opening of the bag. Most reptile shippers require photographic evidence of the arrival and packing materials, as well as the condition of the animal upon opening when disputing a problem or the occasional DOA.

I photograph the unopened box, useful if the box got damaged.
I photograph the open box, showing packaging.
I photograph the packing materials, insulation and heat pack as well as cushioning and the bag itself.
I photograph the unopened bag, showing the means of keeping the animal in the bag.
I photograph the open bag with the animal inside, especially important in case of DOA.
I photograph the animal out of the bag, to prove it arrived safe and sound OR if I found any issues such as kinks, scars, severe malnutrition, etc.

So far, I just have a bunch of pictures to remind me of when my newest baby arrived, but I'd much rather be safe than sorry.

Handwarmers are not acceptable to ship animals. When activated in such a small space, they get much to hot and use up all the available oxygen to get hot. So if it doesn't cook the animal, it suffocates them. There are heat packs designed for shipping animals, and they aren't that expensive. You talk about your roommate breaking the handwarmer ? Most of them activate upon being exposed to air, not by manipulation. Any chance of a picture of the handwarmer ?
