May not do any good, but I wrote them a email stating my displeasure. I hope they change their ethics.

Email was the wrong word. Sorry. I filled out a form on their website and sent it to them:

    Re: Animal Abuse?

i saw this too, i had just walked in the door, and it was on the part right after that part when they were doing the close up on the rattler, and my dad went, hey look at all the snakes, all happy like, so i sat down, he rewound it, and when i saw that they had to use their teeth my reaction was what the f? it was rediculous. i hate how nobody cares that it was snakes (except us of course), but if they had done that to puppies or kittens, or even rats the whole world would have crapped a brick. they shouldve used rattlers for that stunt, the world would be alot better off. animal cruelty is the same no matter what animal is involved, and i hope to god they get their arses nailed to the wall for this. its like the whole cannonball thing with mythbusters, since it was for a tv show, nothings gonna happen to them, but if it were anybody elses accident, they'd probably be in prison

I think what is kinda getting over looked here is that someoone inside the reptile community/industry is supplying the snakes for these stunts.

Surely, NBC does not go out and purchase 100's of snake for an episode.

In my opinion the snake wrangler would be just as responsible, if not more so, than the network.

Classic case of "when two fools met"

One for suggesting this, and the other for going along with it.

Money has a funny way of clouding one's judgement sometimes though.

I had this thought too. Did anybody DVR the show? Maybe the supplier was listed in the credits.

Yea but no matter who the supplier was they probably didnt know. NBC most likely contacted them and just said we need x amount of snakes for a stunt on a show. They probably paid them well and they got the snakes back afterwards so the supplier didnt care. Im not trying to downplay this by any means but I think that the supplier may not have really been at fault.
