    SPJ,

Adam Richardson took that picture, but I believe those animals belong to John at JASballs. I'll try to track him down and get him to comment. But you are correct, that looks like an excellent Harlequin as I understand the mutation!

    Thanks!

Here is a female I've been working with. She didn't do anything for us last year, but she's locking consistantly with a lemon blast male this year. I can't wait to see what she throws.

She definitely has a few of the give-aways that harlequins have. Not saying she's a harlequin because we don't know. She was originally bought as a WC hatchling, then sold to us when she didn't produce for the other guy. I've always thought she looked very similar to a harlequin, but time will be the true test I suppose.

What do you think of the dueling earth worms on her back? lol

There is definitely something "stripey" going on with those. Beautiful animals.

The one on the top left is definitely something out of the ordinary. That is by far the best looking Harley I've seen. Granted, I think there still needs to be more info on the morph before any solid conclusions can be made.

Re: What is a Harlequin BP

This is my harlequin male. They have also been refered to as widestripes. Some have been proven genetic but alot of animals displaying the "harlequin markers" do not. Some people have produced some amazing animals from thier harlequins. Google harlequin x fire and see some nice looking fires that someone produced. As has already been stated, much more time is needed to figure out exactly what is going on with this morph, or if there even is anything going on. I am very interested about working on this project and due to the number of debates and questions this topic inspires, I will be sure to keep everyone posted on my progress. So far this season he has had multiple locks with a dinker female and a spider. If it does prove to be an inheritable trait, I'm pretty excited about the prospect of a harlequin spider.
