Having had a conversation with a young person, about the age of many of you I suspect, and having had a bunch of hours stacked one upon another during my drives this weekend, I had time to ponder.
I must retract my previous statement that anyone who goes to peta or hsus is stupid. Gullible would be a better word. Or uninformed. Ignorant, without a negative connotation, even. But stupid was harsh.
Sometimes I forget that I've been doing this for longer than most of you have been alive. You hang around long enough, ya learn stuff. And I'm not much for coddling.
So, while I totally stand behind all else that I've said, that was a tad over board.
But think people. Ask what benefit comes to ANY source of information if you believe it, and then what does that benefit. Don't blindly accept ANY one source. Verify yourself. Ask around. Poke about the web. There's a LOT out there. And don't let some slide just because you think they're good or actually were good in the past. Question, verify, learn and educate.
Has anyone considered that that sickly looking Discus was a rescue or was dumped on the store? I used to do fish in a big way, had a service company and all. Well intentioned people do horrible things without knowing.
Anyway, question and verify, don't just accept at face value.
