I use the Herpstat 4 from spyder robotics and love it. All of there Products look great. I would use 11 inch flexwatt. You can purchase 11 inch flexwatt in just about any length at reptile basics. You can even have them wire it up for you. The cages I have are made from 1/2 inch thick controlled density PVC plastic and the 11 inch flexwatt on the hot side combined with a RHP to regulate the ambient temp works great. I use 2 thurmostat channels per enclosure. Some people would consider this overkill but then again I am OCD LOL.
Where did u get ur plastic? I have thought about making bottom back and top solid black and the sides front clear acrylic.... also my buddy has a controller from spider that controls 2 zones and humidity... what device could u use for the humidity?
Most of my enclosures are from a company called Animal Plastics. Their cages are great. I have bought some plastic from an online source called McMaster-Carr. (just google it) I already had an account with them because I build robots and order metal and other parts there.
My Herpstat 4 can regulate humidity with an additional humidity probe that you can order from spider robotics website. A few of their products can regulate humidity it will be listed in the features for each model if it can. They also have a model called the Herpstat Humidity. All it does is regulate humidity. Feel free to ask more questions or PM me if you want.
Instead of plugging in the temperature probe for the desired output you plug in a Humidity probe that is sold on the Spyder Robotics website. You then plug in a humidifier or misting system of your choice to the output. I personally use an ultrasonic humidifier and pipe the mist into my cages via 3/4" polyethylene pipe.
Very cool so I could get a herpistat to control the heat paper and humidity.. can I post a link to the humidifier you use?.. one I git didn't even actually blow the mist into the tank
