I live in an apartment, but I had already had the apartment before I got my snake(s) lol. I had just approached my landlord and asked how he felt about snakes, and if he'd allow me to have one. I explained that they stay under a certain size, I won't have hundreds of live rodents around, etc, and he agreed, as long as it wasn't out while no one was homeBut, moving into a new apartment, I can understand why a landlord would be cautious. There are some scummy people out there. Luckily, my landlord had already trusted me by the time I brought it up...
I suggest just explaining your exact situation, a explain how you'd be devastated if you had to give up your pet, and reiterate that it will be in a very secure enclosure. Most are just worried about them escaping and waking up to a scene from Snakes on a Plane over night lol.
