Yes, the italicized names are BP.net Veterans. If I remember correctly, you achieve that with two years of membership and, I think, a minimum of 200 posts. At one time the admins were talking about adding some new "ranks", but I don't know what was ever decided about it.

Sometimes you will also see names in bold text. I believe those are members with paid subscriptions.
