    New Baby in the Mail!

So, the time has finally arrived. My new baby Dumeril girl is in the mail and on her way! FedEx tracker is up, and I will probably be up all night refreshing the page. Tank has been lifted and an UTH attached beneath the hide at one end of the tank. Temps are around 88-89F daytime and 80-84 night in the hot zone. Humidity is riding around 50% right now, but I will mist later to get that up. Plus, once I put her water dish in, it will go up anyway. I had to bleach that as it used to belong to one of my other snakes, then washed thoroughly with soap and water, twice. It is now soaking in warm water, just to make sure there is no bleach residue. I want everything perfect for her!

If I forgot anything, let me know! Otherwise, any stories for me about waiting eagerly all night for your new babies?

Congrats! I just got my pastel today, I was up until 2 a.m. refreshing the page. Unfortunately FedEx was running late due to weather and he didn't arrived until 12:30 p.m. today. He was very grumpy after spending 18 hours in a box with little room to move so he tried to bite me twice. Good luck!

Haha! Thanks! I saw your video. He's really cute. I just hope he calms down for ya over the next week.

I've decided if my girl tries to bite me straight out of the bag, her name will be Bellatrix LeSnake. (Harry Potter nerd. ) Otherwise, her name will probably be Xena.

Congrats! Try to get some sleep or your going to be too tired to truly enjoy your new baby when she arrives tomorrow.

I'm waiting for a pewter ball python tonight, but I'm picking her up at a FedEx Service Center because it's way too cold for her to be on a truck. I can't wait.

Ooouu...pretty. I love Pewters. I'll be up most of the night anyway, trying to study for my Cell Biology exam. Waiting for her just makes it more enjoyable...not to mention making me more distracted.

I can't wait till she gets her so I can take a video and post pics.

Thank you, me too but I took him out briefly after a couple hours and he has calmed down a lot. I thought his sides were white but they are actually bright yellow. Only his back is darker so i'm a lot happier with him now. Good luck, hope she doesn't bite you! I'm going to name my pastel either Thor (Norse) or Jupiter (Roman) I can't decide lol

Hmm...well if his sides are bright yellow, I'd say Thor. Norse God of Thunder/Lightning/Storms, etc. Seems fitting. Especially since Thor carries a hammer, and he struck out you fresh out of the bag.

Jupiter is the Roman version of Zeus but thank you for bringing that up, I think I will go with Thor

Re: New Baby in the Mail!

Gah! I'm going crazy. My baby has been "in transit" from Oregon for four hours now. -huff- I'm just so worried about her. I've never had a snake shipped to me before. I have previously only purchased snakes from local breeders for the fear of opening the box to find that something happened to him/her. I'm so nervous.

Gah! The FedEx man is an hour late delivering her already. I hope she's okay. She's had a very long cross-country journey. -sigh-
