I listen to underground hip hop. not that garbage top 100 crap they play in the club either..older stuff like the Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Mood, Boot Camp Click, Gangstarr, A Tribe Called Quest...etc.

I grew up listening to metal, but got into hip hop when i wrote graffiti as a teenager (in the 90's) it was more of a cultural thing than anything. graffiti is considered an element of hip hop so they went hand in hand. even though i'm not an active graffiti writer anymore, the music still speaks to me.

a LOT of people don't like hip hop, and for good reason. 95% of it is crap. its that top 5% that makes me a hip hop head.
