Re: Why would anyone buy a rack?

To the OP.... you basically walked into a corvette club and starting asking everyone why the hell they would buy a corvette when a ford escort could be had for so much less... How would that go over?

What are you basing your claim of outrageous pricing on? What rack, specifically (including materials used), would you be able to build for way cheaper then it is being sold for from the pros?

Re: Why would anyone buy a rack?

The fact of the matter is that people do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons. As far as buying racks over building them. There is plenty of good reasons. Racks are essentially cabinets. And to build cabinets properly requires skills and almost as importantly the proper tools. Many people simply don’t have one or both of these things. As far as the cost goes as stated many times all ready in addition to materials ,which if your just buying at retail are not all that cheap, you have to pay for a skilled trade to do the work. I just built these 2 28qt Rubbermaid racks for someone this morning and in addition to $155 worth of material I spent 4 hours building them. And I’m a professional cabinet maker with a fully equipped shop.

Even with my years of training without access to my shop these would have been next to impossible to build and probably taken days of my life.
