    I want another snake....

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a second snake in February or march and I wanted to get your guys opinions on what types of snakes you recommend. As of right now the larger snakes (boas, burms, retics) are out of the picture. Other than that I'm open to almost anything. I LOVE my BP and I am definitely open to getting another, I just want to see what my options are. My price range for just the snake is 100-200. Let me know what you guys think.

You can get corn snake morphs relatively cheap and they font get that large. Sand boas stay small. Hognose are small.
    Can't stop with just one!

I've recently fallen in love with the Hog Island Boa. It's a dwarf boa that gets about as long as as a BP. They're really cool and I love the two that I have.

Another cool snake is the rainbow boa, also a smaller boa, and it looks really cool. I plan on getting one of these soon.

Kenyan Sand Boas are cool and stay really small, I have an adult male is about 18 inches.

You could also get another BP, can't go wrong there.

Out of all of those options, I think the Hog Island Boa would be the one I recommend the most. They are just an amazing boa and they don't get big.

Thanks! I was looking at Kenyan Sand Boas and I thought they were kinda neat. My question would be, can you handle them much or do you typically have to leave them alone? I was also looking at Hogg Islands and I saw one at a show that I went to recently that was massive... How big do they get on average? I typically like snakes that are bigger like the Hog Island but Kenyan sand boas are pretty neat as well. Also, are Hogs pretty docile? Being able to handle the snake is a pretty big requirement for me. Lastly, if you were gonna spend 200 on another BP what morph would you get?

I don't handle my Kenyan as much as I should. I got him as an adult and it seems to be 50/50 if he's okay with being held. Most are okay with being held though. When mine is okay with being held, he's really cool. They feel different from any other snake I've held. They have a slightly rough feel to them. They do like to burrow so getting them out can be a bit of a challenge some days because you don't always know where they are.

As for the Hog Islands, males are smaller and average about 4ft, females get a little bigger at about 5-6ft and get little more girthy. My Hog Island Boas are super docile and I believe most of them are. Mine are both babies still and under 100g. They have amazing temperaments and cool colors, just make sure you buy a pure Hog Island Boa if you decide to go that route. Some people will cross them with red tails and those will get bigger.

As for the BP, it depends on if you ever plan to breed and if you want a male or a female. I honestly love a really nice pastel and you could get an amazing male for under 200 and a nice female for around that. Spiders and cinnies are also other morphs I really like. Bees are one of my favorite combos, but you won't find a nice one for 200. It really depends on what you like though.

Im kind of interested in the Kenyan Sand Boa. I watched a bunch of videos on them and they got me interested. I have always liked bloods as well but I've heard they can be quite temperamental... is there any truth to this or is it just a myth?

ive never had bloods, bu ti assume its like any other species, where it depends on the individual snake

Yeah, I assume so. I have always really liked them, but I don't want a big (girthy) snake that I can't handle because its angry. I really have a thing for RTB's but I just can't have one right now. I am really leaning towards a KSB but I can't seem to find a good care sheet on them. I want to do a lot of research on them before I go and buy one.
