    I wouldn't get your hopes up too high of landing a $100/hour job, especially with just an associates degree. Don't get me wrong, database admins make good money, but you won't get a $100/hour job as soon as you finish school. You might make more working as a consultant than as a full time employee, but work isn't always steady when you do that. That's just my .

    You might want to look into the classes you are going to be taking. My best guess is that they are going to be teaching you SQL at some point since the most common database systems are Oracle and Microsoft SQL Sever and both of with use a version of SQL.
