Could Anyone tell me a timeline on breeding?

First lock yesterday: i heard 3 day on 3 days off... 1. so in two days should i put my male pin back in with her? 2. How many times should I let them lock? 3. how do i know if she is pregnant? or w/e its called 4. how long til she lays? then its 58-60 days from lay when they will hatch correct? thanks for the words of wisdom

Starting now, I pair every other week for a few days at time, until I feel obvious follicle development. If I palpate ping-pong balls forming inside the female, I'll try to pair a bit more often leading up to ovulation.

Then from ovulation it's a little under two months until she lays, and then it's another 56-60 days or so until the first pip.

Last year I paired all winter, but I didn't see an ovulation until mid-May. And I had a second pair of 2008s that was breeding up a storm all season, but the female never ovulated.

Ovulation - 14 days later Pre-lay shed - 30 days later Egg laying. (on average sometimes longer)

Everything else varies greatly from a few locks to many, and also keep in mind you do not always witness locks.

Monitor your females and my recommendation to you is pair them until they ovulate.

My female decided to even blow that schedule up, skipping her pre-lay shed completely and waiting an extra week to lay. I was going out of my mind wondering if she'd faked the ovulation, right up until she laid the first egg.

Thankyou soo much guys that JKR pro tips is awesome had no idea that i needed to feel for follicles so the whole lock as far as i can tell was a wash whe is Very large so i SHOULD feel the follicles and i don't so i'll keep her off the heat (was told by a breeder buddy that it would help... not sure if its help the lock or help the follicles develop) and kepp feeling for them unless i'm still doing it wrong lol my wife says a lot "please tell him (me) or he (i) will never learn.. he's clueless most days"

I pair every other week. I feed on Fridays, put them together on Monday, usually by Wed they're "finished", separate, feed on Friday, wait a week, and then repeat. I pair every other week until they stop pairing.

I don't get caught up in trying to feel for follicles or marking up my calender with every little date and prediction. It's easy to start freaking out, especially if you're new, if its been 22 days since her shed and everyone is telling you she should lay 21 days after her shed or whatever.

I keep track of locks and sheds, and from there can pretty much know when what is going to happen.
