So pickles has been doing great and it's been a week since i got him and I knew he was gettin hungry by the 5th day because he was becoming more and more active like he was searching for something (food duh) and today I fed him his first rat pup with me! So excited! The rat was actually kinda cute, sorry lil dude, but used the hair dryer technique, warmed him up, popped him in Pickle's tub, and damn it didnt take him long to find it. Did a two tongue flicks and BAM grabbed him and now he's gobbling him up! So proud
except I think next time I'm going to have to get him small rats, not rat pups, because they almost seem too small for him. They're a little smaller than his girth at the thickest (maybe by an inch or two)

Congrats! its always good to hear about good eaters. my girls been great three for three, same thing you said 15 seconds and shes got it in her mouth. anyway hopefully yours will continue to be good for you!

P.S. i do the hair dryer trick as well, seems to work great. just focus on heating the head so they your snake with strike more towards that end instead of towards your hand.

I would assume hes still calming down, if he continues to move around alot within the next 24 hours try offering another (provide 24hr to allow the first to set and start to digest) if its taken without problem continue to do that, once they are taken fine two days in a row, and the snake still seems hungry. try offering two a day, once the snake does that fine try upping the size.

Thats the way ive understood it, and the way it was explained to me I could be wrong hopefully more people will chime in with ways they think it should be done aswell.

the good thing about F/T is if at any point the snake doesnt take it you can re freeze it and try later.

It sucks! atleast my girl is good to go tommorow. i just cant wait till shes big enough for once a week feedings! hopefully by that time ill have myself another one though....
