Albino lovers... Don't look!

i love ball pythons but i think it's a cool picture. that's a nice looking albino, and i think it's interesting. even the caption made me chuckle. i don't see the albino suffering, or bleeding, or in any pain.. as far as i'm concerned, it was already dead, and the owner said "hey i don't need to buy a feeder today. thanks, nature"......

i wouldn't have posted this picture though lol. i know there's always at least 1 person who is overly sensitive, and doesn't really think about both sides of a story before posting

It's a King Cobra. They're "KINGS" because they eat SNAKES. Boo hoo. Quit whining about nothing like you're gonna make a difference.

Shocking words from Ball Python "lovers" to say the least.

I've never fed live or purchased a live one for that matter, all of my snakes eat F/T.

I don't really think it's all the shocking. Most of us here do love and respect our snakes, but everything needs to eat. Those f/t rats you are feeding to your snakes had to die to become f/t food. There are plenty of members here who love rats and still feed live to their snakes. It's great that yours will take f/t, but not all will. I have two that will not take f/t no matter how hard I try so I feed them live. I don't think that's cruel at all, to me it's much better than watching my pet slowly starve to death, which would be cruel.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here..given our understanding of snakes and their behavior..What is so offensive about a king cobra eating what it would normally eat , another snake..regardless of it's species and or color?

Now given the reactions here..do you see why non-snake people get so up-set when we post feeding pics of our snakes eating rats or mice.

All I will add is that a "normal" may have been a cheaper feeder?

I understand they had to die, I am not that naive. I origianlly posted thinking the King Cobra was fed a live ball Python, after experiencing some bad stuff I tend to assume the worst. If the Ball Python died before hand, thats fine then. It is easy to feed snake eating snakes rodents, wrap them in a little snake skin. What I use to do when I kept venomous.


And RyanT, you have no room to talk. You were one who sided with someone who ripped out live Rats teeth before feeding.

Your first post and following replies were very negative. In your first post you were pretty much calling the original poster a horrible person then you went on to insinuate that members here don't love their snakes. You are going to get strong responses from a lot of people when you make posts like that.

Never called anyone a horrible person nor did I insinuate any of you not loving their snakes. Before I read the story behind it all I said is should be ashamed of thinking it's funny. And all I said is that it was shocking words from poeple on a Ball Python forum. I never said anything negative to anyone so please do not put words in my mouth or try to make me look like the bad guy. Thanks.

Written words are often misinterpreted. I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth, but that is how I interpreted your posts. I was trying to explain to you why I believed you felt we were "ganging up" on you. No one is a bad guy here, but people are going to express their opinions and they won't always agree.

Exactly, that is what I was doing, expressing an opinion. It does seem like when poeple see a few against one they try to jump on board but thats alright. I am not upset with anyone, nor anyone should be with me. I simply saw the picture thinking someone fed a live Albino BP to a King Cobra and expressed my opinion based on that.

But, I did read the history behind it. So my nerves are calmed.
