    Bp Bites

So there's always the chit chat of how not to get bit... but no topic of what to do when you do get bitten.

So this thread serves to let you share your views of what to do when you get bitten and the ultimate technique of getting them to let go when they do hold on.

One proven method I've seen someone do so far is to dip the snakes head in water, along with whatever it's holding onto (finger, hand....) and the Bp let go right away...

The next proven and fool proof method... Wait it out...

So my question? How do YOU get them to let go?...

Pour it in their mouth or use it in a spray bottle and spray their mouth.

I haven't used mouthwash before, but running them under water worked for me. That being said, I've only had one bite where they actually latched on and tried to strangle my arm. Most of the time if you get bit it's going to be a defensive bite and they won't grab you. With those bites I don't even realize I've been bit until afterwards when it starts to bleed.

Only one that held on was a hatchling and it was funny. Let go after he found out my finger wasn't able to be swallowed.

I've never had a bp hold on... But I had a nasty bastard of a green tree python a few years ago that would latch on and start grinding. He'd get a mouthful of hand sanitizer. Worked like a charm. lol

Wouldn't the alcohol mess them up in hand sanitizer?
