I found an entire case of ceramic dishes at my dollar store. About 5" in diameter, and an inch deep. Very heavy and sturdy, white on the inside for spotting mites, the outsides are tan, red and blue.
Sure I have to check water dishes more often than with deeper bowls, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when you don't have a large number of snakes.
