I'd go with whatever you think is the best idea. There isn't really a right or wrong way to do it. However, if you are just getting into breeding and are buying hatchlings I would buy females first. They take longer to get up to weight and males (for the most part) are easier to buy when close to breeding weight. Just something to think about.

Hmm makes enough sense to get a female first I guess. My normal girl is 3 years old right now but shes extremely small for her age. I dont have a food scale yet, but shes only about 31 inches long. Will she ever be able to reach the correct size to breed ? She has to be at least 1500 grams right ?

very normal haha. it seems I'm buying a new ball python every couple months now trying to buy pieces to projects and get them completed

If you like him go for it, I personally avoid cinnamon and stick with black pastel, I like them better. A big mistake I made getting started was buying single gene males, I wish I would have purchased a few good 2 gene animals and left the singles alone
