The zoo probably gets calls everyday from people that dont know how to properly take care of these animals. Thats probably why they have not called you back. Its a zoo not a humane society they can only take on so many animals. However being in florida they should be able to point you in the direction of some place to take it. I hope for the burms sake you find it a new home asap.

Not sure how asking a question is instigating, Twist.

Agreed, I work for a public aquarium and we get calls all day long from people who have pets they want to donate.

So how is it going? Have you found a home for her? I hope you do, not only for the kids sake but for the snakes. You have been given some good advice. Please let us know how things are going.

Harriet will have a happy long life there so don't worry. That's prolly the best outcome u could've hoped for. Good job doing what ur cousin failed to do and find help and seek a proper place to put her. U did the right thing
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

    Thank you
it wasn't that we couldn't take care of her, it's just that
    a) we legally can't have her
    b) we have a baby in the house, when I was a baby/toddler (she's been alive longer than I have been) I wasn't allowed in that room and we eventually moved out of the house because my mom was terrified to have us in the same house as her
she was like one of the family and I think she's the main reason I love reptiles so much
