how to get ball pythons to lock up

The male het is 2008 950 grams the female is 2008 1350 grams. What are some things I can do to get them to lock up? I have a normal male thats about to shed and I've heard you can like put the shed in the females cage so the male like gets jealous? What else can I do to get these guys going?

First of all deep breath.

Not seeing locks this early isn't uncommon. Keep pairing them up..there are animals that take months or even years before they breed in captivity. Be patient and know that while a 1350 3 year old female can breed doesn't mean she will.. I have heard of females taking 4-5 years (i have one) before they breed..

Try misting them. "Rain" can make em frisky...Also, try pairing when there's a rainstorm moving through. Barometric changes are stimulating. Mmmmmmm

Its still pretty early, none of mine have been locking yet, but I'm not pairing them very often since its so early. Give it some time!

So this is my first year breeding and I have a pastel X spider and a het pied X het pied. The pastel X spider pair are both younger, spider is 2010 800 gram male, and the pastel is 2009 1250 gram female, and they are locking up like crazy. However my het pieds haven't locked up yet.

I was trying to get the sperm plugs out of the male normal to put in the female like ralph davis does but didn't have any luck getting them out.

There is no real answer for this one, snakes make up their own minds. They either want to or they don't. There are things you can do to maybe pursuade them a lil more but if they don't wanna, don't stress it will happen eventually.
On another note, I don't breed my females under 1500 grams thats just my own personal something I'm going to stick with, after the flop breeding that happened last year. I do believe it was because she was immature under the 1500 gram weight. She absorbed instead of producing. I did everything dropped the temps, power fed her, blah blah blah. She locked, she did the build, blah blah blah, pre shed blah blah. Absorbed them, to immature her body wasn't ready I believe she was too immature
I have 2 breeding projects going this season, the female i just spoke about well over the 1500 gram mark, and a 12 yr old female. Now the first female I dropped the temps did the power feeding and all the normal stuff and within 15 minutes had her and my male spider in lock for 2 days then in locks on and off for 2 solid weeks. Now she's in shed and he's uninterested and she doesn't even know he's there. After she sheds he's going back in with her and we will see what happens.
My other project with this 12 yr old normal, that I want to prove out she's rather strange looking, I didn't do any preps with her, I said hmm and dropped this same male spider in with her, in 5 minutes they were in lock for 2 1/2 days, and the same with locks on and off for 2 weeks, and now she is ginormous. So as far as the male keep him away from heat because he will go there instead of being with the female, um my male didn't even know there was a warm side in the tub
