Two herps escape in one day? Really?!

Oh man its been a horrible couple days for escapee's at my place.

I had a 500g dinker BP in a large critter keeper for quarantine and apparently I didnt snap the top door all the way. She escaped sometime tuesday night.
I noticed while watering my leopard geckos. They are housed on the same shelf at the moment.

So I was looking around the living room for her and I noticed one of my juvey leopard geckos somehow got out of his cage too! WTH? And this animal was also kept in a critter keeper but I dont usually snap the lids because a leo wouldnt be able to climb out of the vertical plastic. Or so I thought? I would love to see the ninja moves this gecko had. This happened sometime on Wednesday night.

So tonight we found my dinker thank goodness but my leo is still on the loose. Who loses two reptiles in 24 hours? really?
I just hope we can find him.
I have heat pads and moist hides in a few places around the room.
I hope my BP didnt eat the leo, I dont think they would do that though? ugg..I just had to vent a little

i know they would in the wild, they mainly eat gerbils out there, but also anything they can fit in their mouths, including lizards and other small snakes(snakes are less likely though). but its a good thing we know your leo didnt eat your bp lol, you know how savage those things can be! anyway, good luck, i hope you find the little bugger

I have seen a few predator studies from royal territory small mammals and birds mostly I don't recall seeing any lizards or snakes. They certainly never eat leos as they are from asia.

OP no it is vey very unlikely that a royal would eat a gecko.

well it possible, and i know they dont eat Leo's in the wild, but the snake isnt going to think, he's from asia, i shouldnt eat him, plus since bp's are sometimes willing to eat eachother:

i cant really see them hesitating to eat a lizard when its right in front of them, and theyre hungry, no-matter where the lizards from

Well I just hope with the head start my BP got to find a hiding spot that she wouldnt come across the leo. After all feeding day was on tuesday but this girl eats like a champ and honestly I wouldnt put it past her if she came across the leo.
I almost want to make her regurge just to know for sure.

I can't believe they eat eachother that's crazy. Would that be a territory thing between males or just someone getting hungry

more of a territory thing, but im sure hunger has something to do with it, usually males just fight, but every now and then, they eat each other, im not sure what females will do, but their all solitary snakes so they only come together when theyre forced to by weather or some other danger

Yay! We found my leo tonight!
He made his way all the way downstairs.
Im just so glad to have him back and to know he wasnt snake food lol.

congratulations, i almost had a mouse escape today (she was an un-eaten feeder), but i walked in the room and saw it on top of the box she was in, and all i said was WTF? lol

I've had close calls like that before.

I used to keep my feeder mice in wire cages and hoppers would squeeze through the bars and go from cage to cage. They would never go anywhere else but straight from one cage to the next. It was the funniest thing.
