I considered the flying saucer for my rats. Many chinchilla people I know love them to death. But the size was a little large for me since its takes up more area than height.

OK. My new wheels arrived in the mail today. I ended up getting the previous model of the silent spinner because it was only $15 each. I considered the PETCO ones but they were sort of squeaky...anyway I got the chinchilla sized ones so I wouldn't have to upgrade wheels when the younger ones outgrew it. Its very silent. I can't hear the wheel spinning at all. However I can hear every step the rats take. But overall the sound of the rats running is still much more silent than them romping around. I really like this wheel. (And surprisingly enough its a male that's going wheel crazy! Haha)

Here's one of my males. He's not full size yet. Only 130 g.
