I decided to build a rat rack based on ARB Reptiles and Simple Man's design and instructions.
I made some slight modifications to the design like shorting it to 4 tubs and adding two additional vertical legs to attach the rails to so I could shorten the rails by 5 inches in order for the tubs to be able to be removed without the water valves getting in the way.
Also Rich from RBI recommended that I elevate the water reservoir about 12 inches above the rack in order to maintain good pressure in the system so I added a small stand for the bucket.
It's definitely not perfect, Lowes cut all the lumber for me but messed up some pretty good, a few of the cuts were as much as 1/2" off, which was a pain to work around, but overall I'm happy with it.
Overall cost was roughly $60 for the rack materials and $60 for the water system parts.
Big shout out to ARB Reptiles for their great step by step instructions and to Simple Man for all the advice.![]()
