    Kinra,
Hey I deal with this issue all the time I too have an open rack my case is that the walls are so poorly insulated I can't heat it up really.

Anyway I have some temporary ideas that may help. Try to insulate the rack some blankets or towels especially the top and bottom if the floor is cool. if you have vent holes in the back you could drape a blanket over the back as well. This should help to hold some of the heat the flexwatt is producing in the rack rather than escaping to the room. It might be worth a degree or two on the cool end.

I totally feel ya ... I have heat included in rent so I'm just grinding my teeth waiting when They turn it on
I'm on 5th floor (last one) and today morning (With 55 outside) my floor temp was 73 my sealing 70.5 (measured with temp gun)
My Herpsat is set on 105 and because i use Thicker layer of substrate my hot spots in rack are 85-86 cold stays in 77-78
I know from experience that maybe in next moth for few days before they start heat my thermostat will be cranked up to 110!!!

With 2 Pythons I really was thinking about Cages with Radiant heat and use rack for my Colubrids...

Yeah, I've been lucky, none of my snakes with "extra personality" have managed to get sick. Is he a good eater, at least?

Okay, based on that timing, it's probably just the cinny "whistle". Keep an eye on the cinny for a while, definitely, but it's probably just a "feature", not a "bug".

Yeah, he's a pig when it comes to food. I shouldn't find it so funny since I know one of these days he's going to get me, but feeding him is extremely amusing. I open tubs and then grab rats and he's usually half way out of his tub looking up for food in the few seconds it takes me to turn and get his rat. He also ate during his entire antibiotic cycle too, which was nice.

I'm going to keep an eye on the cinny and hope it's just the cinny "whistle". I have a pretty good idea of what to look for when it comes to RIs now so if anything else pops up we'll go to the vet.
