I have a lot of luck leaving them in overnight. I have two that will not eat for me unless I leave the rat in the door of their hide and wait for all the lights to go out. By morning 90% of the time it's gone. I'd try it for picky eaters, some just don't like an audience. I always do that zombie dance with tongs to see if they'll take it, some do, some don't. If they don't I leave it in overnight.
