Re: a question about shipping / delays
Certain chain type mailbox stores that ship fedex dont allow reptiles in their facilities and they can say what they want but fed ex hubs and fed ex operated facilities will ahip reptiles as long as you are verified or you ship through shipyourreptiles.com. as far as fish and wildlife is concerned i have been told a number of different things. I have been told you have to mark and i have also been told you dont. I do know when shipping delta dash with venomous it has to be marked, sealed, and inspected. At least it did when i used to deal in hots. But that has been awhile.

Its in the lacey act all wildlife must be properly marked on outside of box. This is beyond what fedex knows. The letter i got which is a standard letter has many things on it about, destroying said packaged animals, Fines, jail and so on. Its not a state to state thing.
Heres the letter i got. I called them to verify what was going on. They didnt know it was a python just figured due to company name. The customer said box was never inspected as zipties were never touched. The box did have Python Regius on it just not Live harmless reptile on it.

Re: a question about shipping / delays
To ship FedEx, you must be certified. You get certified by speaking to your rep and sending in a test package. After some paperwork, they certify you.
No, a 24 hour delay should not kill the snake unless of extreme weather.

Thanks for sharing that and the pic with the box you prepped. I wasn't aware of those stipulations from the Feds. I don't breed mine at the moment but as I plan to in the near future, that's great info to know. Thanks for sharing and enlightening my ignorant self, lol!

Actually Fedex does ship live reptiles. It can be done either by an individual who is Fedex certified or an individual that uses SYR
Now as far as the delay does it happen? Yes it does sometimes for various reasons.
At this point you need to contact the shipper so he get on the problem and help you locate the package for you to intercept it or pick it up at the location.

I need to get me some stamps made! That's a good idea. I don't ship a lot so I've been just writing it on the shipping label I print out. But the stamps look professional.
I also think a lot of FedEx employees have NO CLUE they ship snakes... I had a hold at pickup package that they almost sent back once the receiver mentioned it had a snake in the box... even though I had it marked properly... and I am certified... seems they don't know how to check.
Grrrr...

Apparently ball pythons are "unwanted pests" in Kalifornia.
