    Bumble bee question

Do bumble bees get more yellow in them as they grow? My first clutch of the year is hatching and it looks to be 3 bees, 2 pastels, and 2 normals. Not all are out of the eggs yet, but 2 pastels and 1 bumble bee are. I don't see any yellow, he's more of a creamy and pinkish color. I'll post pics when all have hatched.

    Thanks

Yes after they first shed he will be more yellow. They don't get brighter with age though. Just like any pastel they will brown out eventually, it all depends on the quality of pastel.

They'll actually get brighter first and then slowly dull some...depending on the quality of the Pastel...A good Pastel will cause them to keep most of the yellow and white...the backs will brown out some...but the yellow and white will still be there...

This is fresh out of the egg...

I thought I had more bees at first last year. Then they colored up and were spiders. Lol

My 3 look like your pic. I hope that one didn't color up into a spider.
