what i don't get is how the reptile community is generally against people bringing their snakes out into public.

    reasons being:

    1) it stresses the snake
    2) there's no need for it
    3) it makes people who are already fearful of snakes, for whatever reason, hate them even more

on threads like "can i bring my snake to the park?" or "i brought my snake to the lake with me and somebody ran away screaming! teeheehee wussies!"

    i see comments such as:

    1) "THIS IS HOW REPTILE PEOPLE GET A BAD NAME!!!"
    2) "NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF SNAKES"
    3) "it's not cool to bring your reptile outside, as it stresses them out"

yet when Justin Beiber does it, at a freaking AWARDS SHOW which, if i'm not mistaken, is an extremely crowded place, with musical performances and such. you don't think that stressed a snake out?

i'm SO SICK of the way celebrities are excused for things that normal people wouldn't be excused for.

i'm going to make a thread with the title "omg i brought my pet snake with me to the grocery store!" and the contents of the thread are going to say "someone asked me what kind of snake it was, and i said a burmese python. they asked how big it was going to get and i told them; just 4 feet!" and see what kind of responses i get...
