until i know more about husbandry this would be my first suggestions. the african probably has been through a lot and needs to adjust. I would handle it more maybe a bath or two and establish some trust and confidence. you never know the full history of a snake at this point and make sure its not going into shed. As for the ball he is from a breeder and probably lived in a shoebox rack. he too needs human interaction and time to adjust. As his trust and confidence builds he'll feed. If you ask some of the breeders on this sight that have huge populations, how they feed, it will give you a better picture of what your spider is used to. your big female can wait longer thar you can so let her get really hungry then maybe bite the bullet one time and buy her a gerbil or a quail.
