I've never seen a manx I want one. How hard is it to ship a rat?

Manx? Are you breeding for manx?
If you're breeding for manx and have only gotten 2 in that long, there's probably something wrong with your pairings.

She's doing well and growing fast, looks a lot like her mom except with the tail missing,

We've produced 5 in 6 months without trying to make them
2 didn't make it to weanling stage but the other 3 are doing fantastic.

Shipping rodents is like shipping a dog, vet check, etc. quite expensive for a rodent.

A single case of rodents, ships for about $200, plus crate cost, and gas money.

That's not terrible if you're starting up a really nice colony but a few rats... yeah, that's nuts.

It's also not terrible if you're trying to get a gene that is not available to you.
A bunch of us show breeders just got hairless mice shipped for $75 plus 2 $13 crates.
The cheap shipping was because it was from a lab, so they have deals with airlines and couriers since they ship a lot.


Shipping from another country is where is gets painful. Around $5000 will get you mice from over seas.
