Hi,
Won't you have major chew out problems with those with the square holes making it so easy for them to get a toothold?

Well, I plan on putting the hardware cloth on the inside, so I don't think that will be a problem

I would drill two tiny holes through the plastic and run thin wire through and essentially "twist-tie" it around the wire mesh in many places (that's what I did in my ASF tubs). I have used zip ties in the past to do just that but they chewed through them.

Rats and mice chew through EVERYTHING. I recently had to replace ALL of my tubs because of it. I can pretty much garuntee you that they will chew on those pre cut holes.

If it's lined with hardware cloth on the inside they can't chew out
I have male rats that would take up almost half of that tub, by the looks of it they are way too small

Yes, it would be too small for hooded rats, But we're making them for Soft furs.

They do seem a bit small? I use 10 gallon tanks for my asf. And they chew plastic more than any other rodent! I think the hardware cloth will poke them? Try using a pop rivet gun and washers!
