It was no joke when people told me BP's will get addicting.

So i barely started to get back into ball pythons about a month ago. Had a couple back in 2006. But joining this forum and people saying that I would soon be addicted was no lie. HAHA. I'm on a collection hunt! I just want more and more. I know im not going to get a whole bunch right now but I really want to. I am on this forum every single day. Doing more research online about BP's and learning about morphs. Amazes me how people can determine what kind of BP it is just by the head of a BP coming out of the egg. This is truly addiction and can see how it can get me in trouble with the fiance. LOL!! Can't wait till another reptile expo is in the area. Trying to make my fiance love them too.

Believe it or not, I only had one snake back in January, now I have 11 BPs (soon to be 12), a KSB, a BCI, 2 cresties, an African Fat Tail Gecko, 3 Leopard Geckos (arriving tomorrow ) and I'm caring for 2 rat snakes that belong to my sister. If you want to keep your collection small don't build/buy a rack. My collection exploded when I built my rack which I only keep BPs in.

I made the mistake of making mine big enough to house 12 and now it's going to be full once my news ones make it out of quarantine. >__<

I used melamine and hard wood. If you use melamine I would suggest make a smaller rack, it's super heavy.

Here is my rack (which I can barely move ):

It holds 12 41qt Rubbermaid tubs, and some of my snakes have been in it since they were 200g. I know 41qt is large for smaller snakes, but I've had some in there since they were 200g and they all have two hides and eat fine so I don't see a problem with using the larger tubs.

nice.. Do you use an outlet for each heat tape or just one for all?

I have them connected into a power strip which is connected to a Herpstat ND thermostat. That's the thing to having a rack, it's important to have a good thermostat controlling the heat tape. Overall my rack cost me more than I care to admit, but I also bought the wrong size heat tape originally. >_<

Thats what i've seen is people spending a lot on their racks. But the way i see it is you want to produce good quality snakes its starts off with making sure they have a good quality living.
