    If you are mounting it inside the enclosure as Dion (herpstat designer) recommends the snake will be able to move around it. If the probe can break free it may end up off the uth causing a temp spike. Depending on the set up this could be a disaster. The snake MUST not be able to break it free. I cover the probe completely and about 1/2 an inch of the wire leading to it as well. The temps are slightly different but it is very slight less than 0.4º (yes I have a very accurate thermometer rated to 0.05º)

    It is still much more accurate than exterior mounting. The glue adds to security of the probe mounting it is very important more so than a small temperature variation.
