    Re: Humidity problems

I will also mention to WATCH your UTH CAREFULLY. I had a UTH under my tank with a previous snake and somehow the tank got cracked just above the UTH while I was on a short vacation. Moisture seeped into the UTH and caused the snake to be electrocuted- I will probably hate myself forever for her senseless death

We had problems with humidity also in glass tanks and this is what worked for us...aluminum foil taped over the top of the screen, leaving only a small section open. I cut it to fit around the heat lamps (which are low wattage because they do suck up the humidity). Someone else on here suggested a humidity hide so I tried that and it's great. I got a plastic box from Wal-Mart, soaked some moss to put in it, and the snakes love it. This hide is on top of the UTH so that helps too. I also spritz with water occasionally and they don't have any problems with shedding. One of our snakes will stay in her humidity hide the entire time she's in shed.
