Re: 6-14-11 Catheter and Eyes that Smolder

I'm so glad to see you're not being kept in some bubble with no access to the outside world! (Although I still fear The Bubble after the transplant...I'll try to stay positive, though!)

I would have thought they'd have done a chest port or an arm port on you long before now. A bit of surgery involved, but seems way more comfortable than a catheter in the neck. Eww! I've had my share of really bad sticks and multiple multiple tries, but nothing quite on that scale. My own experiences resonated as I read though, and had me squirming in my seat for you!

Have you tried to smoulder back at the nurse with the eyes?

No smoldering. My trust issues run deep. Plus there's this cancer thing to be dealt with. She does have some beautiful eyes though.

They wanted to do this catheter thing months ago to make it easier to get fluids and drugs in me as well as blood out, but with my work I simply refused. I come in contact with too many animals to have that opening available to opportunistic bacteria.

It is convenient though I do, sort of, miss The Amazons. They harmonize so very well together as they lure their victims to their lair. I suppose I'll be seeing them in the future once this thing is out and they continue to check my blood.

Got some interesting info today. Apparently this week, the first one, is not always that rough. Next week when I get the transplant, that one is supposed to be tons o fun. Plus I'm not getting the cytoxin as yet. That's a nasty one. Friday we meet again, hopefully for the last time. My inside parts certainly hope so.

It is said that life is an adventure. I suppose that's so, but where is the hero with the cure? In most of the books I read the hero eventually shows up to save the day or at least convey how that saving may be accomplished. Reckon I need to read more.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

    Wes,
You are in my thoughts and my prayers. You are a very strong individual. I always enjoy reading what you write. It is such a welcome distraction from the hum drum of this world. I have much respect for you.

I shall snicker softly and try to suppress the grin to a more manageable size.

It's really great to see you out of that place....as good as it was, it's no place for healthy bodies.
